Is the sale in more than one room? What's in each room?
The sale takes place in 3 spaces on the 2nd floor of the library: the Friends room (just off the vestibule), the lobby, and the Bonsignore Room. Access to the Bonsignore Room is via the lobby.
Is the bake sale every day?
Our Bake Sale happens on Saturdays during the full sale hours. If anything's left, we will offer it on Sunday, sometimes marked down.
Do you offer markdowns on Sundays?
We do offer some markdowns on limited items, typically mass market (small) paperbacks, depending on what inventory is left.
What form of payment do you take?
We take cash and checks made out to Friends of the Medford Public Library. We also take credit cards, Venmo, PayPal with a $10 minimum purchase (including membership).
Can I get a receipt?
We will gladly give out paper receipts by request.
Friday night sales are from 6:30-8:30 and are for members* of the Friends of the Medford Public Library only. That means all shoppers must have an active annual or lifetime membership or join at the sale.
You must verify your membership or join either before doors open at 6:30 or at check-out when you pay for your books. Here's how that works:
*Membership is not the same as having a library card. Please see our Join/Renew page for more info.
Our Friday sales are a popular for local members looking for a few books and for teachers, book resellers and others looking to buy a lot of books at once. To ensure a safe and pleasant shopping experience for all, we have a strict “no hoarding” policy as follows:
Once you have filled a bag or box and need to sort through the books again, take them to the sorting tables provided and leave your discards on the reshelving cart.
All books stored in the holding room are considered SOLD. They will be tallied and held until you are ready to pay. This count is final for each box.
Staff will be happy to assist you in the holding room when you are ready to pay for all your books.
Any questions, just ask a volunteer.
