Important Note: Due to a higher than usual amount of donations, we will stop taking items for the current sale on Saturday, September 7. We will resume accepting donations on Monday, September 23.
Did you know that everything we sell at our Book Sales is donated to us? If you have items that you no longer need, please consider donation them. Donations can be left at either of the two Circulation Desks in the Medford Public Library anytime during library open hours.
Before making a donation, please review the below information about what we do and do not accept. Thank you!

Unfortunately, we do not always have shelf space for everything that is donated to us. Items that we cannot use are donated to More Than Words, a nonprofit social enterprise that empowers youth who are in the foster care system, court-involved, homeless, or out of school to take charge of their lives by taking charge of a business. They run a used bookstore in Boston.
We also invite the librarians to look through new donations in case any donated materials can be added to the library’s collection. Many items have been added in this way, especially replacement copies of damaged books. We are able to save the library hundreds of dollars that can then be used for purchasing additional new materials.
We are always looking for other ways to make the best use of books that we are unable to keep. If you have any ideas or know an organization that would like to receive a donation of books, please let us know!
