Dua Lipa and her literary empire

People can surprise you with their interests.  I only know of Dua Lipa from a music series called "Sound Exploder" where musicians dissect their hits.  The show is on Netflix if you like that kind of musical minutiae which I apparently do.  Anyway, she has started a site that is much more than a "book club" - https://www.service95.com/  There is a lot to unpack there but props to anyone pushing books to the public.

There is an extensive essay about the project which started in 2023 and you can read about that here - https://www.elle.com/uk/life-and-culture/a44094487/dua-lipa-on-the-power-of-books-and-why-not-energy/

Her music can be found anywhere music is played.  The hit song she dissected was Love Again - https://youtu.be/6GzDle_ohek?si=BWv51a3Hg78f70HS

I almost forgot, that sound sample she uses in this song has been recycled many times over.  The song Your Woman by White Town also used the same sample but at a slower time signature, if you care the song is here - https://youtu.be/lVL-zZnD3VU?si=etzU3RPwvJhWW4oQ
