I hope wherever you are, you are in a cool place.  While I am searching for the eternal way to setup up automatic posts, I had some time for updates and the way forward.

1.  A new podcast will be arriving shortly.  A future podcast will be with new Director Sam Sednek and Jenna Barry!  We'll discuss the digital archive project and this will have its own post with much more detail.  More to come.

2.  I had a chance to speak with Rowan Wheeler last night and she let me know that there will be a new round of book reviews appearing shortly.

3.  Last night we also had our Friends of the Medford Public Library meeting.  We discussed the upcoming one day book sale, metrics around the book sales and the upcoming library card drive for September.  While its early still, it looks like we will get to collaborate with the city's new Neighborhood Ambassadors Program for the library card drive.  Exciting news!

We'll keep you posted.  In the meantime if you ever want to cause your brain to explode, may I suggest Dan Gilbert's book "Stumbling Upon Happiness".  Like the cliche goes, everything you thought you knew was wrong.  Thought provoking to say the least.  Finally, I keep making the mistake of heading over to see the bookstall to the right of the front desk.  I bought yet another book I did not need but I did want.  All the books on this shelf are a whopping $2.  For those who think e-books and audio books will be the death of the dead tree scrolls, know that they are wrong.  This was Joseph Campbell's "The Hero With A Thousand Faces".  According to the inner sleeve of the book jacket, it states "This book combines modern psychology with Joseph Campbell's revolutionary understanding of comparative mythology".  I'm clearly out of my depth here.  Enjoy your day!
